The Masonic Temple is a ground up renovation of a 1913 building. The facility houses the Des Moines Symphony’s Youth Symphony Academy and the Des Moines Symphony offices.

The building is on the National Registry of Historic Places. Therefore, extreme care was taken to match original colors and trim styles. Iowa artists were brought in to recreate deteriorated terra cotta, missing cornice trim and recreate original paint patterns.

The first floor of the Temple was designed to include retail space and restaurants.
