The West Zone Maintenance Facility in Des Moines, Iowa centralizes multiple small storage and maintenance buildings, as well as staff offices, on the west side of Des Moines. Designed for heavy use and long term durability, the building is the first LEED Certified building for the City of Des Moines and the anticipated pay-back for this environmentally project was seven years.

The certification was achieved through careful siting, waste water capture, green building materials and state of the art energy recapture. The team for this project included Modus Engineering and Engineering Resource Group. Our services included: programming; site studies; schematic design through construction administration; probable cost estimates; LEED management; civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and technology engineering.
