The Des Moines Embassy Club had not seen a major remodel in 20 years. ID8, doing business at the time as Shiffler Associates, was brought in to master plan the floor and completely remodel the dining room and bar. The club had been sharply divided into numerous rooms greatly limiting the number of people the club could handle at any given time. Our challenge was to redecorate while at the same time opening up the space to give it a more flexible layout.

Perpendicular walls that had divided the space were removed. The bar was relocated from the perimeter to an interior location freeing up valuable window space. Restrooms were brought into conformance with ADA and ANSI standards. ID8 was responsible for all material selections and finishes.
