This project took advantage of a unique situation by taking over a recently out-of-business grocery/deli on Des Moines’ suburban fringe. The location was ideal so the club could offer both urban and suburban sites for their members.
The existing facility contained 17,000 square feet as well as a large, near-new commercial kitchen. Our office was given a budget of $350,000 to remodel the entire facility. The budget was stretched by “re-purposing” existing display racks into wine racks, existing cash wraps into maître d’ stations and existing room dividers into ornamental backdrops.
In the final configuration, the new club facility contains a member’s bar for 50, meeting room for 24, a dining room seating 100 and special events hall for 400.
