Des Moines Embassy Club Downtown
The Des Moines Embassy Club had not seen a major remodel in 20 years. Shiffler Associates was brought in to master plan the floor and completely remodel the dining room and bar. The club had been sharply divided into numerous rooms greatly limiting the number of people the club could handle at any given time. Our challenge was to redecorate while at the same time opening up the space to give it a more flexible layout.
Embassy Club West
This project took advantage of a unique situation by taking over a recently out-of-business grocery/deli on Des Moines’ suburban fringe. The location was ideal so the club could offer both urban and suburban sites for their members.
Grinnell Hotel

River Center
Located at 340 SW 3rd Street in Des Moines, the building was originally constructed in 1915 as a warehouse facility of the Des Moines Brewing Company complex.
Temple for Performing Arts
The Masonic Temple is a ground up renovation of a 1913 building. The facility houses the Des Moines Symphony’s Youth Symphony Academy and the Des Moines Symphony offices.
Wieting Theatre
The Wieting Theatre in Toledo, Iowa is a ninety-year-old theater that, thanks to a major fund-raising effort by the community, was brought back to life. Watercolors made, at the time of construction, were our guide.
